Walk-through

The bus card recharge, step by step

If you prefer the long version — from card in hand to balance on the tap point, told slowly.

  1. Get your Hafilat card ready

Flip it over and locate the sixteen-digit serial printed above or below the barcode. It reads in four groups of four. Type it into the recharge form exactly as printed — spaces are added automatically.

  2. Pick an amount

Preset amounts are AED 20, 50, 100, 150 and 200. Or type any custom figure between AED 10 and AED 500. There is no service fee on top.

  3. Add an email

The email is used only to send the receipt and to help support if something goes wrong. No newsletter, no marketing.

  4. Continue to the billing page

The Continue button opens our billing page on a separate subdomain. It has a summary of the order — amount, order number, Hafilat card number — and a single card form.

  5. Confirm on the billing page

Enter the cardholder name, card number, expiry and CVV on our secure billing page. Your bank may add a quick confirmation step.

  6. Balance appears on your card

Once the bank confirms the payment, the balance is added to your Hafilat card. Bank confirmation depends on your issuer, typically anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. Tap on the reader at your next ride.

If anything goes wrong: your card is not charged when the payment fails. Try again in a minute or with a different card. If the payment cleared but the balance did not load, write to support with the order number and we handle it on our side.

What we don't do

No account, no login

We don't build a profile around you. Each recharge is a one-off transaction — three fields, one payment, one receipt.

No app to download

Everything runs in the browser. There is no mobile app for this desk, nor plans for one — a page is enough.

No tracking pixels

No advertising cookies, no third-party analytics beyond what is needed to keep the site running. See the cookies page.

No calls or SMS marketing

Your phone number is only used if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp. We don't cold-call or SMS.
